As a Keywords DTT linguist, we appreciate your dedication to deliver a high-quality localized experience to Netflix’s global audience. The following guidelines set expectations primarily around how you should promote a title or project you’ve worked on.

| What you need to seek prior approval

Using Official Netflix Digital Posters

The use of official and approved Netflix branded digital assets for direct social media posts may be considered WITH PRIOR NETFLIX APPROVAL. Branded digital assets will be supplied by Netflix. Use of branded assets should be accompanied by the title name and a description of the facility involvement.

Interviews, Press, Conferences and Events

Interviews, conference presentations, public events, academic papers, and press engagements regarding Netflix titles require PRIOR NETFLIX APPROVAL. This includes press releases about your involvement in a Netflix title. If you are planning an interview, event, or press engagement, please contact Keywords Studios for approval in advance via this form. 

Note: If you are interviewed for an unrelated project and asked about your role on a Netflix title, you may confirm their involvement by stating the title and general role (e.g., “I provided the French subtitles for [Netflix Title]”) — but no further commentary is permitted.

Additional Activities

In addition to the above, the following activities are not permitted unless explicit prior approval has been given:

• Use of Netflix content, assets, or examples (e.g., screenshots, logo, video clips, or internal use cases) during presentations or speaking engagements

• Use of Netflix digital and branded assets (e.g. posters) on social media. 

• Manipulation of official Netflix digital assets (including but not limited to key art, posters, and trailers)

• Commenting publicly (e.g., on social media or forums) about specific workflow details involved in the localization process

• Implying exclusive or preferred status with Netflix

• Tagging of Netflix in the post

Approval process

If you wish to share information about subtitling work that requires prior approval or are unsure whether prior approval is required, you must submit a request through the Keywords DTT Marketing & Promotional Request Form. 

Timeline: Please allow 3–5 business days to confirm receipt of your request and up to 20 business days for a response. Do not post anything prior to receiving written approval.

| What you can promote without prior approval

You are authorized to promote the following without seeking approval from Keywords

• Re-sharing a published post by the Timed Text Partner (i.e. Keywords Studios) that has already been approved by Netflix. You are encouraged to highlight your contribution ([Netflix Title] is now available on Netflix! I am proud to have authored/QCed the subtitles in [Language]”) but are not permitted to add commentary proprietary to Netflix such as specific workflow details involved in the localization process. 

• Posting directly and highlighting your contribution only AFTER the title has launched (i.e. the title and localized language is available on the Netflix service in territory), regardless of whether the Timed Text Partner (i.e. Keywords Studios)  has posted or not. The post may also include a reshare of an official Netflix press coverage and/or official trailers released by Netflix on social media or official YouTube channels (please refer to the list of channels below). You’re not permitted to add commentary proprietary to Netflix such as specific workflow details involved in the localization process.
